The Young Married Group is a lifestage group for people who are engaged or recently married (within 5 years or so). The current group will be meeting twice monthly for the 2009 calendar year.
Marriage and family is important to God, and it is important to Ethnos. The couples in this group are interested in building relationships, learning from each other about marriage during the pivotal early years, and blessing both the Ethnos and local communities.
Here are some more details:
- The study text for the group is Love & Respect, by Emerson Eggerichs, at about 2 chapters per month. The workbook will not be required, in order to keep the cost down.
- The first Saturday of every month will be more optional for people to attend as their schedule allows. It will be more relationship and fellowship focused, OR it can be whatever the group wants it to be for that week, including but not limited to fun activities or local events, or service opportunities.
- The third Saturday of every month will be focused on discussing and working through the material previously read in Love & Respect. This is the more "required" gathering, so make sure to mark these dates down in your calendar and plan for them.
- Meetings will, in general, start at 6:00 PM at Matt and Ciara's home. The meeting starts with a potluck-style dinner, followed by the scheduled activity for the meeting. Deviations from this general rule will be discussed amongst the group!
